Andhra Pradesh has taken a major step toward becoming India’s next hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The state government announced the creation of a 360-degree GCC Advisory Council, bringing together CXOs of global corporations, industry bodies, consulting leaders, real estate developers, and academic partners.

The initiative aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a national leader in the digital economy. GCCs, the strategic units of multinational companies, manage R&D, IT, finance, procurement, and customer services. India already hosts over 1,600 GCCs employing 1.6 million professionals, and Andhra Pradesh wants to capture the next wave of growth.

The new advisory council will prepare a five-year roadmap for GCC development in the state. Its focus areas include talent creation through IIT Tirupati and IIM Visakhapatnam, innovation via global partnerships, and infrastructure upgrades such as IT parks and Grade-A office spaces. It will also oversee the implementation of IT & GCC Policy 4.0 and lead global branding campaigns.

AP has also cleared a three-month program of roadshows in the US, Europe, and Asia. With strong industry collaboration, the state expects to attract major multinational investors, generate thousands of high-value jobs, and strengthen its position in the global technology landscape.
