AP Liquor Scam: ED Summons Kesineni Chinni’s Wife Again

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again issued summons to Janaki Lakshmi Kesineni, wife of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni, in the ongoing AP liquor scam investigation. Officials asked her to appear before the agency on May 27. The AP liquor scam probe focuses on alleged financial links between a Hyderabad-based firm and key accused persons in the case.

According to ED officials, Janaki Lakshmi is a director in PRYDE Infracon LLP. The agency suspects the company may have links to money laundering activities connected to the AP liquor scam. Earlier, she reportedly skipped questioning, leading to fresh notices from the ED.

Kesineni Chinni denied all allegations. He said the company was formed only for a real estate project in Hyderabad and had no relation to the liquor scam. He also claimed the project stopped operations during 2022-23.

Meanwhile, the ED continues to investigate alleged kickbacks, shell companies, and illegal money transfers linked to the Andhra Pradesh liquor policy case.

YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy Granted Bail in AP Liquor Scam Case

YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy has been granted bail by the Vijayawada ACB court in connection with the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam. The court allowed his release on two sureties and a cash surety of Rs. 2 lakh. As part of the bail conditions, Mithun Reddy is required to appear for questioning twice a week to assist the ongoing investigation.

Mithun Reddy was arrested on July 19 by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore liquor scam and was identified as A4 in the case. Following his arrest, he has been held in Rajahmundry Central Jail, where he has remained until the latest bail order.

With the court granting bail, Mithun Reddy is set to be released shortly after completing the necessary formalities. The investigation into the liquor scam continues, and Mithun Reddy is expected to cooperate with authorities under the conditions of his bail.

AP Liquor Scam: Mithun Reddy Bail Hearing Adjourned

In the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam case, YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy, who was recently released on interim bail, faces a fresh hearing. The ACB Court had earlier granted him interim bail to cast his vote in the Vice-Presidential election, with a direction to surrender at Rajahmundry Central Jail on September 11. His lawyer argued for regular bail before the court, which adjourned the hearing to September 12.

Meanwhile, the court also postponed the hearing on co-accused Chanakya’s bail plea to September 11. In another development, three accused in the same case — Dhanunjay Reddy, Krishnamohan, and Balaji Govindappa (A31, A32, A33) — were granted regular bail by the ACB Court. They were released from jail on September 7.

However, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) challenged their bail in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, seeking a stay order. The SIT also requested the court to deny default bail petitions of other accused. The High Court, after hearing the matter, issued notices to the recently released individuals.

Additionally, the SIT urged that bail not be granted to other accused in the liquor scam case. The High Court adjourned further hearings in the matter to September 11. This case continues to draw attention as multiple bail petitions and legal challenges unfold.
