										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p data-start="345" data-end="592">The Bharatiya Janata Party recorded a decisive victory in Arunachal Pradesh’s local body elections. The results strengthened BJP’s grip at district and grassroots levels. The Congress once again failed to make a meaningful comeback in the state.</p>
<p data-start="594" data-end="845">According to the State Election Commission, BJP won 170 of the 245 seats in the district council segment. Out of these, 59 seats were secured unopposed. The party also dominated the Itanagar Municipal Corporation polls by winning 14 of the 20 wards.</p>
<p data-start="847" data-end="1196">Chief Minister Pema Khandu welcomed the mandate and credited voters for choosing development-focused politics. He said people endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and inclusive vision. Khandu thanked citizens for their trust and support. He added that the strong mandate would energise efforts to build a developed Arunachal Pradesh.</p>
<p data-start="1198" data-end="1494">The counting of votes for panchayat and municipal bodies concluded on Saturday. The SEC stated that BJP’s performance clearly established its dominance at the district level. The National People’s Party won five seats, including one unopposed. Independent and other candidates secured 23 seats.</p>
<p data-start="1496" data-end="1634">In gram panchayat elections, BJP repeated its strong showing. The party won 6,085 of 8,208 seats, including 5,211 uncontested victories.</p>

Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry will elect new Assemblies next year, and several local bodies will also vote nationwide. This sweeping election season begins soon and sets the stage for a high-stakes political year.</p>
<p data-start="573" data-end="977">Assam will vote for <strong data-start="593" data-end="606">126 seats</strong>, Kerala for <strong data-start="619" data-end="626">140</strong>, Tamil Nadu for <strong data-start="643" data-end="650">234</strong>, West Bengal for <strong data-start="668" data-end="675">294</strong>, and Puducherry for <strong data-start="696" data-end="708">30 seats</strong>. Several states will also host by-elections. Goa’s Ponda seat, Karnataka’s Bagalkot seat, and Maharashtra’s Rahuri seat will go to the polls after the deaths of their sitting MLAs. Manipur’s Tadubi seat and Nagaland’s Koridang seat will also elect new representatives.</p>
<p data-start="979" data-end="1371">Local elections add to the packed calendar. Maharashtra will hold polls for <strong data-start="1055" data-end="1081">246 municipal councils</strong> and <strong data-start="1086" data-end="1109">42 nagar panchayats</strong> on December 2, with counting on December 3. Kerala will vote for its local bodies on December 9 and 11. Mizoram will elect members to the Lai Autonomous District Council on December 3. Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar Municipal Corporation will vote on December 15.</p>
