Gurpreet, who had earlier won bronze in the same event 12 years ago, secured his first international gold with a score of 572. His 18 inner-circle shots gave him the edge over Amanpreet’s 11. Su Lianbofan of China took the bronze.

India also bagged team gold in the 25m Standard Pistol and 50m Rifle Prone junior events. Harsh Gupta and Mukesh Nelavalli teamed up with Gurpreet and Amanpreet for a combined score of 1709 in the pistol event. In juniors, Suraj Sharma won silver and Tanishq Naidu bronze, adding to India’s medal count.

The shooters continued their strong run with Sami Ulah Khan, Adriyan Karmakar, and Kushagra Singh Rajawat clinching junior team gold in rifle prone. With more events scheduled, India’s medal haul at the Asian Shooting Championship is set to grow further.
