Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced that the PM Gati Shakti District Master Plan now maps 112 aspirational districts. The initiative aims to boost inclusive growth and improve infrastructure planning in these regions.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October 2021, PM Gati Shakti links multiple ministries and sectors on a digital platform. It has cut logistics costs, sped up project execution, and improved service delivery nationwide.

The platform combines data from ministries for projects in offshore wind, coastal infrastructure, and resource exploration. It highlights regulatory conflicts early, simplifies environmental clearances, and provides a centralized geospatial data repository. Key initiatives include the District Master Plan for all aspirational districts, PM GatiShakti-Offshore, and the Unified Geospatial Interface for public access.

Goyal said that 58 ministries and all 36 states and UTs are now onboarded. He added that the platform accelerates project execution, ensures synergy, and promotes sustainability. It also supports India’s Blue Economy, green energy goals, and the vision of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
