]]> Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced that all panchayats with a population exceeding 10,000 will soon be designated as Rurban Panchayats, aimed at bridging the gap between rural and urban development. Speaking at a review meeting, he said these upgraded panchayats will be provided with urban-level infrastructure and amenities, including improved roads, sanitation, water supply, and digital services.

The Deputy CM also revealed that 359 Grade-1 Panchayat Secretaries will receive salary hikes and promotions to the post of Deputy MPDOs (Mandal Parishad Development Officers). These officials will be deployed across the newly formed 359 Rurban Panchayats to strengthen local governance and administrative efficiency.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to promote balanced regional development, enhance living standards in large rural areas, and facilitate smoother transition toward urbanization across Andhra Pradesh.
