Launched by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), BHARATI stands for Bharat’s Hub for Agritech, Resilience, Advancement, and Incubation for Export Enablement. The program supports agri-food and agri-tech entrepreneurs, accelerates innovation, and opens new global markets.

Starting this September, the pilot phase will onboard 100 startups. These will focus on high-value agri-products, organic foods, superfoods, processed Indian foods, livestock items, and AYUSH products. BHARATI also encourages the use of advanced technologies such as AI-based quality checks, blockchain traceability, IoT cold chains, and agri-fintech tools.

The initiative directly tackles challenges in packaging, sustainability, logistics, and export protocols. It creates a collaborative ecosystem by linking innovators, tech providers, and startups to deliver scalable and cost-efficient solutions.

According to officials, BHARATI will strengthen India’s competitiveness, promote demand-driven food innovation, and fuel growth in processed food and beverage exports.

The BHARATI initiative also plans a nationwide campaign to attract solution-driven entrepreneurs and engage stakeholders from across India.
