Under the Bihar Assembly 20 Committees Formed move, leaders from several parties received key positions. The committees will work from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. Some rebel legislators who stayed away during the Rajya Sabha election voting also received roles in the committees.

Congress MLA Manohar Prasad Singh and RJD MLA Faisal Rahman have been appointed as committee chairpersons. JD(U) leader Manoranjan Singh, also known as Dhumal Singh, will head the tourism industry committee. Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh has been included as a member of the environment protection and pollution control committee.

Out of the 20 committees, nine are headed by BJP leaders and six by JD(U). Leaders from RLM, HAM, RJD, Congress, and AIMIM received one committee each. However, LJP (Ram Vilas) has not received leadership of any committee so far. Eight committees are still waiting for reorganization.

Several members from major political parties received important roles. Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Indian National Congress, Hindustani Awam Morcha, Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen were chosen as chairpersons of different committees.

The Bihar Assembly Committees include important panels such as the Public Accounts Committee, Estimates Committee, and Public Sector Undertakings Committee. These panels review government spending, examine policies, and monitor the work of different departments.

However, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) did not receive any chairperson position in the newly announced list. This absence has drawn political attention in the state.

The formation of these committees aims to strengthen legislative oversight and ensure accountability in the functioning of the Bihar Assembly.
