The Bihar By-Election became necessary after the seat fell vacant in November 2025. Former member Radha Charan Sah won a seat in the state Assembly elections, which created the vacancy in the council. His term in the council was originally scheduled to continue until April 2028.

According to the election schedule, the official notification will be issued on April 16. Candidates can file nominations until April 23, and officials will scrutinize the nomination papers on April 24. The last date for candidates to withdraw their nominations is April 27.

Political activity has started to increase in the Bhojpur and Buxar regions. Major political parties have begun planning their strategies to win the seat as the election approaches.
