]]> The Bihar Congress seat-sharing talks in the Grand Alliance have hit a deadlock. While the NDA has finalized its strategy, Congress remains locked in disputes with RJD over traditional seats like Kahalgaon, Rajapakar, and Vaishali. The Congress Central Election Committee met in New Delhi to decide on 60 candidates, warning that if the issue isn’t resolved by Monday, it will announce its list independently.

Senior leaders including Rajesh Ram, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and Madan Mohan Jha attended the meeting. The Congress has already shortlisted 74 candidates during its Screening Committee session. The dispute grew when RJD demanded Congress’s stronghold seats, prompting Congress to seek more seats in Seemanchal.

The Bihar Congress seat-sharing disagreement has now reached Delhi-level negotiations. Congress proposed a new formula to Tejashwi Yadav, suggesting equal sacrifice from both parties if seat numbers shrink. In 2020, RJD contested 144 seats while Congress had 70.

Leaders like Imran Pratapgarhi, Rajesh Ram, and Shakeel Ahmed Khan took part in long discussions. The party plans to field many new faces this time. Some current MLAs may contest from different constituencies. Seats where sitting MLAs face resentment are also under review.

Congress is claiming new constituencies and shortlisting strong candidates based on local conditions. While the Grand Alliance has not completed seat allocations, the Congress is eyeing more than its expected 70 seats. A senior leader confirmed that names will be announced immediately after the alliance finalizes seat-sharing.

The high command wants to finish the process quickly. The focus is on introducing fresh candidates and strengthening the party’s position across Bihar.
