The assistant manager reportedly approved these loans without proper verification and submitted fake field reports. The money later moved into accounts linked to the mastermind.

Police identified at least 14 suspicious accounts connected to the fraud. Authorities also seized forged documents, fake bank seals, and digital evidence during raids. Some suspects, including a bank manager and a government department employee, remain absconding.

Police records state that he was involved in a 2012 attack on a joint search team of police and CRPF personnel. During that incident, he and his associates opened heavy fire while attempting to loot weapons, leaving a police officer seriously injured.

After his arrest, officials brought him to the police headquarters under tight security. Investigators are now questioning him to gather information about his network and other members of the group.

Frustrated by repeated demands, the applicant filed a complaint with the CBI. After checking the allegation, the agency laid a trap. When the complainant handed over the first installment of ₹40,000, the team immediately arrested the officer.

CBI officials have taken the accused into custody and started questioning him. Investigators are also checking bank documents and earlier loan approvals to see if more irregularities took place.
