Seven National Highways in Bihar will soon improve road connectivity and make travel faster across the state. The projects will benefit 21 districts and strengthen transport links between major towns and cities. These roads will support economic activity and make movement easier for people and goods. The Seven National Highways in Bihar plan is part of a major effort to upgrade the state’s road infrastructure.

To speed up the projects, the state government will form a Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA) in the concerned districts. This authority will manage land acquisition and handle compensation issues for landowners. Officials believe this step will reduce delays and help construction start quickly.

Major projects include the Patna–Ara–Sasaram (NH-119A) route, Mokama–Munger (NH-33), Sahebganj–Areraj (NH-139W), the Patna–Purnia Expressway, the Gorakhpur–Siliguri High-Speed Corridor, the Raxaul–Haldia High-Speed Corridor, and NH-327E from Parsarma to Araria.

Officials say the highways will reduce travel time, boost trade, and support development in many districts.

The state industry department rejected 48 proposals during the first stage of approval because many investors failed to meet required conditions.

Officials said most proposals lacked essential information even after repeated requests. Because of this, the government decided not to move them forward. The cancelled proposals covered sectors such as food processing, manufacturing, healthcare, plastics and rubber, renewable energy, textiles, leather, and wood industries.

Food processing had the highest number of rejected proposals, with 27 projects worth about ₹1241 crore. Several investors also withdrew their applications on their own, while a few projects did not qualify under the state’s industrial investment promotion policy.

Authorities said the review will remove inactive proposals and help the government focus on serious investors who follow state guidelines. The Nitish Government Cancels ₹1426 Crore Investment Proposals in Bihar decision is part of an effort to improve the approval process and attract genuine investments.
