Vijay Kumar Sinha Profile Bihar shows his steady rise in state politics. The key phrase also reflects his journey from a local worker to a top leader.

The NDA won the 2025 Bihar election with a strong majority. Therefore, the BJP chose Vijay Kumar Sinha again as Deputy Chief Minister. This decision also shows his growing influence in the party and in the Bhumihar community.

Sinha won his fifth election from Lakhisarai. He defeated Congress leader Amresh Kumar by 24,940 votes. After the result, he said that people trusted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He added that the win gives hope to Bihar’s youth, women, and farmers.

Sinha was born in 1967 in Lakhisarai district. He studied locally and later completed a diploma in civil engineering. However, during his student days, he joined ABVP and the RSS. This changed his path and led him into politics.

He became an MLA in 2005. Since then, he has kept his seat. Later, he also served as Labor Resources Minister. In 2020, he became Speaker of the Assembly. However, he left the post after the political shift in 2022.

Today, his return as Deputy CM confirms his long and stable career.

Amid reports of attacks on CPI(M) offices in Tripura following the announcement of the Bihar election results, state Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury strongly condemned the incidents and called for democratic unity. As a Politburo member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Chaudhury emphasized that political disagreements should never escalate into violence.

“These attacks on party offices are an assault on democratic principles and cannot be tolerated,” Chaudhury said. He urged all democratic and secular forces in the state to come together to oppose political violence and protect the right to peaceful political engagement.

Chaudhury highlighted that the recent incidents not only threaten the security of party workers but also undermine the trust and stability essential for a functioning democracy. He stressed that differences in election outcomes should be handled through dialogue and constitutional means rather than intimidation or vandalism.

The CPI(M) leader also called on the state administration to ensure safety and law enforcement, urging authorities to take swift action against those responsible. He added that the commitment to democratic values must remain firm, especially during politically sensitive periods like post-election phases.

Chaudhury’s remarks underline a broader concern about rising incidents of political violence in Tripura and other states, stressing that democracy thrives only when citizens and political parties can engage freely without fear. He concluded by reiterating the need for all democratic forces to unite, maintain peace, and safeguard the integrity of political institutions in Tripura.

The Bihar Poll Result Cauliflower controversy gained momentum soon after the National Democratic Alliance secured a sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashok Singhal posted a photo of a cauliflower field with the caption, “Bihar approves Gobi farming.” The Bihar Poll Result Cauliflower remark sparked immediate debate online.

Netizens claimed the post hinted at a disturbing incident from the 1989 Bhagalpur riots. Many users criticised the Minister for posting a caption they believed trivialised a painful period in Bihar’s history. They argued that the timing of such a remark, right after the election results, made the controversy even sharper.

The NDA’s win—202 seats out of 243—put the alliance in a strong political position. Party supporters celebrated, yet Singhal’s post soon overshadowed early reactions to the results. Several social media users demanded accountability, saying that political leaders should communicate with sensitivity, especially when a statement has the potential to revive old wounds.

Some felt that the Minister’s influential position required him to think carefully before associating a major mandate with a symbol that could trigger emotional responses. They called for more responsible behaviour from public figures, particularly when addressing large online audiences.

However, a section of users defended Singhal. They claimed he simply shared a humorous political comment and did not intend to reference any communal event. They argued that opponents were intentionally overinterpreting the post to create unnecessary tension.

The debate showed how quickly a symbolic post can turn into a statewide political discussion. In the age of instant digital reactions, even a simple image of a cauliflower field can spark controversy, emotional arguments, and widespread public conversation. The incident also highlighted how political messaging has become extremely sensitive and carefully dissected by the online public.

The Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025 are set to reveal the outcome of one of the most intense political battles the state has seen in recent years. This year’s polls made history with a record-breaking voter turnout of 66.91%, the highest in Bihar since elections began in 1951. Women voters played a crucial role, registering an unprecedented 71.6% turnout, far ahead of the 62.8% turnout among men.

The Election Commission deployed a massive workforce to ensure smooth polling across the state. Nearly 8.5 lakh election officials and 1.4 lakh polling agents managed booths for 2,616 candidates. Additionally, the Election Commission appointed 243 general observers, 38 police observers, and 67 expenditure observers to monitor the process. For the first time, 16 international delegates from six countries visited Bihar as observers.

As the results unfold today, the key fight is between the ruling JD(U)-led NDA and the Opposition RJD-led Mahagathbandhan. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party claims it has emerged as a viable alternative, though most exit polls suggest limited impact. These exit polls overwhelmingly predict a comfortable win for the NDA. Tejashwi Yadav, however, has dismissed these surveys, accusing poll agencies of acting under BJP influence to manipulate the narrative and put pressure on Election Commission officials.

The election campaign was marked by sharp personal attacks and allegations. Both alliances traded accusations over governance failures, rising crimes, corruption, Chhath-related controversies, and what each side labelled as “jungle raj.” Several high-profile murders in the months leading up to the election intensified the political slugfest.

Today’s results will determine whether Nitish Kumar, known for his shifting political alliances, secures a 10th term as Chief Minister, or whether voters choose Tejashwi Yadav to lead a new chapter in Bihar politics.

Nitish Kumar’s growing popularity challenged Lalu Prasad’s dominance, but no party secured a majority. The February 2005 election, the first after Jharkhand’s creation, reduced Bihar’s assembly strength to 243. The results produced a hung assembly—RJD won 75 seats, JD(U) 55, BJP 37, Congress 10, Independents 17, while Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP surprised many with 29 seats.

Despite forming the second-largest bloc, the JD(U)-BJP alliance could not stake claim as LJP refused to support either side. Political instability deepened, and newly elected MLAs could not even take oath before the assembly was dissolved. Senior leaders rushed to Delhi, where crucial meetings were held at George Fernandes’ residence to find a way forward.

The deadlock forced the imposition of President’s Rule. Reports suggest President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was displeased and even considered resignation, but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh convinced him to stay.

The crisis eventually led to fresh elections later that year. This second poll shifted Bihar’s political landscape, paving the way for Nitish Kumar’s rise and ending Lalu Prasad’s long dominance. The Bihar Election 2005 remains a defining chapter in the state’s political history.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, as the leader of Janata Dal, formed a non-Congress government with support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Left parties. With no major opposition challenge, he smoothly led the government for five years. Jagannath Mishra, once the Chief Minister, shifted to the role of Leader of the Opposition, while Lalu Yadav moved from opposition to the Chief Minister’s chair.

This election proved to be a turning point for Congress. Once the strongest party, it collapsed badly. In the previous election, Congress had won 196 seats, but this time it fell to just 71, losing 125 seats. The wave of VP Singh’s politics at the Center in 1989 also boosted Janata Dal, helping it win 122 seats and secure a stable government.

Congress’s defeat was compared to its 1977 loss after the Emergency. The party secured only 24.78% votes and lost its dominance. Meanwhile, BJP strengthened its position with 39 seats, CPI won 23, and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) emerged strongly with 19 seats.

This election reshaped Bihar, showing the rise of BJP and JMM, and the steep decline of Congress.
