Officials said most proposals lacked essential information even after repeated requests. Because of this, the government decided not to move them forward. The cancelled proposals covered sectors such as food processing, manufacturing, healthcare, plastics and rubber, renewable energy, textiles, leather, and wood industries.

Food processing had the highest number of rejected proposals, with 27 projects worth about ₹1241 crore. Several investors also withdrew their applications on their own, while a few projects did not qualify under the state’s industrial investment promotion policy.

Authorities said the review will remove inactive proposals and help the government focus on serious investors who follow state guidelines. Under the Bihar semiconductor factory plan, officials will study districts located near the Ganga and other rivers.
