Starting January 1, 2024, all newly enrolled lawyers in Bihar will get ₹5,000 per month for three years. The stipend will be paid through the Bihar State Bar Council. In addition, state advocate associations can request a one-time grant of ₹5 lakh to set up e-libraries.

The Bihar Advocates Welfare Trust Committee will receive ₹30 crore as assistance. Advocates earning below the income tax threshold can access help from the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund. Facilities like women’s toilets, also called pink toilets, will be arranged for women lawyers in advocate associations.

Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary expressed gratitude, stating that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar continues to focus on development for all sections of society in Bihar. This initiative strengthens support for the legal community and ensures resources for new lawyers.
