]]> The Bihar cheap electricity in day policy started on April 1. The new rule changes how people pay for electricity during different hours of the day. The aim is to reduce power demand during busy evening hours.

Under the new system, power will be cheaper from 9 am to 5 pm. Consumers will get about 20% discount during this time. The government wants people to use more electricity in the daytime.

However, electricity will cost more from 5 pm to 11 pm. These hours see the highest demand for power. Consumers may pay about 10% more than the normal tariff during this period.

The normal tariff will apply from 11 pm to 9 am. The new rule mainly applies to homes with smart prepaid meters.

Officials say the Bihar cheap electricity in day plan will help manage electricity demand and reduce pressure on the power grid.
