Reports say the Jehanabad Train Accident happened around 7:15 pm. An auto carrying passengers stopped on the railway track. At the same time, train number 63256 was coming from Gaya to Patna.

The train driver tried to slow down but the train hit the auto. The impact badly damaged the vehicle. Pieces of the auto scattered near the track.

Luckily, the train did not suffer major damage. Railway staff checked the track and allowed the train to continue after a short delay.

Local people rushed to the spot soon after the crash. Officials have started an inquiry to find out how the auto reached the railway track.

Several wagons fell across both railway lines, stopping train movement completely on this busy route. Railway teams reached the site soon after the accident and started restoration work.

Despite continuous efforts, services have not returned to normal. Officials said the damage is extensive, which has slowed the clearing process. Heavy machinery is being used to remove the derailed wagons and repair the tracks.

Due to the closure, railways cancelled 30 passenger trains on Monday. In addition, 81 trains were diverted through alternative routes such as Kiul–Bhagalpur and Gaya–Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction to reduce passenger inconvenience.

Many long-distance trains were short-terminated or started from different stations. Passengers are facing long delays and confusion, especially those travelling between Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Railway officials said safety checks will be completed before services resume. They expect partial operations to begin once one track becomes clear.

Railway officials said the new Amrit Bharat Express trains will run on important routes linking Bihar with Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, and Amritsar. These routes will help daily workers, migrants, and families who travel frequently between Bihar and other states.

According to railway sources, one train will run from Muzaffarpur to Surat, while another will connect Samastipur with Amritsar. Two more services will operate from Patna to Mumbai and from Patna to Delhi. These routes cover some of the busiest travel corridors for passengers from Bihar.

The railways are finalizing schedules and preparing modern train rakes for these services. Officials expect all four trains to start operations by early 2026.

At present, Bihar has limited Amrit Bharat services. The addition of these new trains will reduce travel pressure on existing routes and improve passenger comfort. Indian Railways also plans to introduce more Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains in the future to meet rising demand.

The Vande Bharat Express Muzaffarpur–Delhi will connect Muzaffarpur directly with the national capital using modern semi-high-speed technology. During the meeting, the Railway Minister assured that the demand is under serious consideration. Railway officials have started internal discussions on scheduling, route feasibility, and technical readiness.

This train will offer advanced facilities such as comfortable seating, improved safety systems, automatic doors, and better onboard services. It will also help business travelers, students, and migrant workers who frequently travel between Bihar and Delhi.

Once launched, the train will strengthen rail connectivity in North Bihar and boost regional development. Passengers now await the official timetable and launch date announcement.
