The focus keyphrase Bihar Elections ticket denial is shaping discussions in BJP, JD(U), and RJD. Many MLAs above 70 years are worried they may not get candidature this time.

Out of 243 MLAs, 68 are above 65, and 31 of them are between 70 and 80. Despite being elected several times, these senior leaders face uncertainty as parties look to bring in younger faces. In BJP alone, many ministers and ex-ministers are in this age group. RJD has eight MLAs above 70, while JD(U) has seven. Congress and CPI also have senior legislators.

Prominent names include Dr. Prem Kumar (70), Bijendra Prasad Yadav (79), Harinarayan Singh (80), Amarendra Pratap Singh (78), and Nandkishore Yadav (72). Former Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad and CPI leader Mahboob Alam will also cross 70 soon. Some leaders are promoting their children as successors, preparing for a generational shift.

The real outcome will be seen after ticket distribution. It will show whether veteran MLAs continue, pass the baton to their families, or lose out to younger aspirants.

The seat, once dominated by communists and socialists, now carries the saffron imprint of the BJP. Minister Jivesh Kumar Mishra, a two-time MLA, is aiming for a hat-trick in 2025.

In the early years, Congress held Jale from 1952 to 1967. The Left made its mark in 1969, when CPI’s Khadim Hussain defeated Congress. Later, leaders like Tej Narayan Yadav of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and Abdul Salam of CPI fought tough contests. From 1990, Vijay Kumar Mishra dominated the seat, switching loyalties between Congress, BJP, and JD(U). His family’s grip ended in 2015 when Jivesh Kumar of BJP defeated Rishi Mishra in a decisive contest.

Today, Jale Assembly seat has 3.31 lakh voters, including 1.7 lakh men and 1.55 lakh women. Beyond politics, the region holds cultural importance, linked with Ahilya, Gautam Rishi, and the historic Gangewshwar Nath temple.

As the 2025 elections approach, Jivesh Kumar is preparing to retain his stronghold, while the opposition searches for a strong face. With history, caste, development, and ideology at play, Jale Assembly seat is set for another intense battle.
