An MLA raised the issue of giving a Geographical Indication (GI) tag to traditional sweets like lai from Barh. He said these products represent Bihar’s culture and deserve national recognition. Other members quickly joined the conversation and highlighted tilkut and Maner laddoo as well.

The Industry Minister informed the House that the government has already moved forward with the GI application process. He assured members that officials are working to protect local brands.

The mood grew even lighter when leaders joked about who serves the best rasgullas. Some members suggested organizing a sweets exhibition inside the Assembly to celebrate Bihar’s rich food heritage.
