A man beaten to death in Patna Parsa Bazar has triggered anger and concern among local residents. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Om Prakash alias Raja, died after a brutal assault late Sunday night.

According to family members, Om Prakash had gone out on his motorcycle on Sunday afternoon. When he did not return home, relatives began searching for him. Early Monday morning, they found him unconscious by the roadside near Tardwa village.

The family alleges that the man beaten to death in Patna Parsa Bazar was attacked by his brother-in-law and the man’s father. They claim the assault followed tension over Om Prakash’s inter-caste marriage. The attackers allegedly kidnapped him, beat him severely, and left him injured on the road.

Relatives rushed Om Prakash to a private hospital in Khajpura. Doctors tried to save him, but he died during treatment due to serious injuries.

The family says they first approached the Parsa Bazar police station but did not get immediate help. Later, police recorded their statement at the hospital. Officers have detained one suspect and started a detailed investigation.

Police officials said they are verifying all claims and will take strict action based on evidence.

Ashok Choudhary wife is rich, and the latest asset disclosures by Bihar ministers have once again drawn public attention. On the final day of 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his cabinet colleagues submitted their annual statements, detailing cash, bank deposits, jewellery, land, vehicles, and other valuables.

The disclosures show that Ashok Choudhary’s wife holds significant wealth. She has bank deposits worth over ₹22 crore and jewellery valued at more than ₹9 crore. In contrast, Ashok Choudhary himself reported limited personal assets, including savings and basic property details. Ashok Choudhary wife is rich, making her one of the wealthiest among ministers’ family members.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also declared substantial assets. His list includes cash, bank balances, land, vehicles, gold, and licensed firearms such as a revolver and a rifle. Other ministers, including Vijay Sinha and Rama Nishad, reported their respective properties and valuables as part of the transparency exercise.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, however, remains among the least wealthy leaders in the cabinet. These disclosures aim to promote accountability and allow citizens to understand the financial standing of their elected representatives.

BJP leader Samrat Choudhary praised the people of Bihar for handing the NDA a sweeping victory in the 2025 Assembly polls, saying the alliance will “continue working for the people of the state.” Speaking ahead of Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in ceremony, he noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would also attend the event.

BJP leaders Nitin Nabin and Vijay Sinha hailed Nitish Kumar’s return as Chief Minister for a record 10th time, calling it a mandate for development and a reaffirmation of trust in the double-engine government. LJP (RV) MP Shambhavi Choudhary described the win as historic, adding that it carries greater responsibility.

Nitish Kumar, unanimously elected NDA Legislature Party leader, will be sworn in at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan, a venue closely linked to his past inaugurations and iconic political moments.

The NDA secured a decisive 202 out of 243 seats, with the BJP winning 89 and JD(U) 85, while the Mahagathbandhan managed only 35 seats. The election also saw a record 67.13% voter turnout.

With top national leaders, including PM Modi and Amit Shah in attendance, the ceremony marks Nitish Kumar’s continuation of nearly two decades of leadership.

New Delhi:
A fresh rift has surfaced within the Lalu Prasad Yadav family after Rohini Acharya alleged she was “abused, humiliated, and even assaulted” by her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his close aide, RJD MP Sanjay Yadav. Hours after the explosive claim, her elder brother and Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav publicly extended strong support to her, declaring that he “will not tolerate any insult to my sister.”

In a post issued via the official JJD Instagram handle, Tej Pratap shared a video of Rohini and wrote in Hindi that while he had silently endured wrongs done to him in the past, he could not remain quiet over his sister’s humiliation. He expressed anguish over reports that Rohini was allegedly struck with a slipper, saying the incident had “turned his pain into fire.”

Without naming Tejashwi or Sanjay Yadav directly, Tej Pratap warned “Jaichands” — a term used for betrayers — that the people of Bihar would not forgive attacks on family honour. He hinted that “some faces have clouded Tejashwi’s judgement” and cautioned that the consequences of this “injustice will be severe.”

The controversy has triggered political tremors in Bihar, with parties closely monitoring the unfolding tensions within one of the state’s most influential political families.

Patna:
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has finalised its power-sharing formula for the upcoming Nitish Kumar–led government in Bihar, adopting a structure that allocates one ministerial berth for every six MLAs from each alliance partner, sources said. The move comes days after the NDA’s sweeping victory in the 2025 assembly polls.

Senior JDU leader Sanjay Kumar Jha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other top NDA leaders held discussions in Delhi where the formula was sealed. As per the arrangement, the BJP—now the single largest party with 89 MLAs—is expected to secure 15 to 16 ministerial berths. The JDU, which won 85 seats, will likely receive 14 berths.

Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), with 19 seats, is set to get three ministerial positions, while Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM(S) and Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM may get one berth each.

The NDA bagged 202 seats in the 243-member Assembly, ensuring a decisive mandate. While the alliance has not officially declared the next chief minister, leaders from the BJP, LJP-RV, HAM(S), and RLM have all endorsed Nitish Kumar to continue in the top post.

A cabinet meeting of the outgoing government will be held on Monday to approve dissolution of the current Assembly, after which Nitish Kumar will resign before forming the new government. Top NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony, likely to be announced soon.
