Jhajjar Commissioner of Police Rajshree Singh confirmed that the campaign against drugs and illegal liquor trade would intensify further. Surajmukh, originally from Ambala but living in Kharar, came under police radar after a major case in December 2023. At that time, a truck with 375 cartons of liquor was seized in Dujana. During questioning, accused Birbal from Rajasthan revealed that the smuggling trail led to Surajmukh.

For nearly two years, the kingpin shifted locations across states to dodge the police. However, intelligence inputs guided the Jhajjar CIA team to Punjab, where they successfully caught him. The investigation uncovered his criminal footprint: four cases in Bihar, four in Gujarat, one in Patiala, and one in Yamunanagar. Courts in many of these states had already declared him a proclaimed offender.

Meanwhile, police also arrested Suresh from Jind’s Hansdahar village. He ran a truck body workshop in Punjab and sold the tampered vehicle used in smuggling. By altering the chassis number, he ensured the truck remained difficult to trace. With this arrest, authorities believe they have dealt a major blow to the liquor mafia operating between Punjab and Bihar.
