The BJP headquarters in Patna issued the suspension order and asked Singh to explain why the party should not expel him entirely. The BJP Crackdown in Bihar also extended to MLC Ashok Kumar Agrawal and his wife Usha Agrawal, the Katihar Mayor.

The party acted after the couple campaigned for their son Saurabh, who contested the Katihar assembly seat on a Vikassheel Insan Party ticket. His campaign directly opposed the BJP candidate and former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishor Prasad.

Raj Kumar Singh, a former Union home secretary who joined the BJP in 2014, has repeatedly attacked state leaders such as Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, accusing them of links to criminal cases.

Singh also questioned the state government’s deal with the Adani Group for a power plant in Bhagalpur. After losing the Ara Lok Sabha seat last year, his attacks became sharper, widening the rift between him and the party leadership.
