He also highlighted that drug mafias have built a strong supply network. They distribute synthetic drugs and misuse medical drugs, reaching almost every district and village in Haryana.

Surjewala urged authorities to strengthen law enforcement, launch genuine awareness campaigns, and take strict action against traffickers. He warned that drug abuse is destroying families and endangering the state’s youth.

Experts note that unchecked drug circulation threatens both individual lives and community stability. Citizens and officials must work together to curb the problem. Communities need education, vigilance, and support programs to protect youths from addiction.

He said Chandigarh is “dearer than life” to every Punjabi and assured that no move, now or in the future, will harm Punjab’s rights. Rejecting rumours about appointing a Lieutenant Governor or restructuring the administration, he said the Punjab Governor continues as Chandigarh’s Administrator.
