Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary inaugurated the School of Drone Warfare at the BSF’s officers’ training academy. The institute will teach personnel how to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), carry out anti-drone warfare, and strengthen intelligence gathering.

The school includes simulators, live drone flying zones, payload integration facilities, night operation training, RF jammers, kinetic interceptors, and AI-driven tools. BSF aims to deploy these trained units in future missions, similar to Operation Sindoor, which was India’s response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Officials said the training will help troops counter modern threats effectively. Courses will also cover FPV drones (first-person view used in kamikaze roles), AI, and machine learning applications in combat.

By setting up this school, the BSF launches drone warfare school to train the troops and ensures its 2.65 lakh-strong force stays battle-ready against evolving strategic challenges.
