The groom’s family had arrived from Uttar Pradesh for the wedding. During the ceremony, a young man, reportedly upset over one-sided love, pulled out a pistol and shot the bride in the stomach. Guests screamed and rushed for safety as chaos broke out at the venue.

Family members immediately took the injured bride to a nearby hospital. Doctors later referred her to a trauma centre in Varanasi for advanced treatment. Her condition remains critical.

Police identified the accused as a neighbour of the bride. He fled the scene after the attack. Officers have launched a manhunt and continue searching for him.
