Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha launched a sharp attack on BRS leaders for dragging her family into fresh political disputes. She said some leaders never uttered her husband Anil’s name during the ten years of BRS rule, yet they suddenly began targeting him now. She criticised their behaviour and questioned their ethics. She also alleged that certain leaders tapped her son-in-law’s phone only to create unnecessary drama.

During her speech, Kavitha grew emotional and accused her critics of trying to humiliate her even after removing her from the party. She claimed she fought intense battles in Delhi while a few BRS leaders relaxed in air-conditioned rooms and misused public money under KCR’s protection. She expressed regret for not being able to fight enough for Telangana martyrs while staying in BRS.

Kavitha asserted she never planned to attack BRS leaders, but she would respond firmly whenever they targeted her. She added that some leaders were making baseless allegations to weaken her politically. She warned that abusive comments would not silence her and stressed that she feared no one.

She further said BRS sidelined her for five years. They denied her the MP ticket, made her an MLC and pushed her aside. She also accused a few leaders of threatening people who tried to meet her. Her comments sparked new political discussion in Telangana.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government for what he termed as gross administrative failure in handling the SLBC tunnel collapse. KTR alleged that due to the government’s negligence, the tragic incident led to six deaths, yet authorities failed to recover the bodies.

He also referred to another recent tragedy in Hyderabad, where three people were washed away in a nala. “Even after three days, the government could not trace their dead bodies. Can there be any greater display of incompetence and administrative failure?” KTR asked.

He said the anguish of families who could not even see their loved ones for the last time was being ignored by the government. KTR demanded accountability and immediate corrective measures, accusing the Congress administration of being indifferent to people’s suffering during such crises.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka travelled to Delhi on Sunday for legal consultations regarding local body elections. The visit comes after the High Court asked the state to complete the polls by September 30.

Officials said both leaders will meet senior legal experts in the capital. Their discussions will cover the demand for 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local polls. They also plan to review the pending BC reservation bill with the President and push for the ordinance that still awaits the Governor’s approval.

BRS leaders, however, criticized the trip. They alleged that Revanth and Vikramarka are not only holding legal talks but also planning to meet the Congress high command. They claimed the discussions may extend to the disqualification of defected MLAs and party-related issues.

The CM and Deputy CM are expected to consult senior Supreme Court lawyers during their stay. Their focus will be on finding legal options to safeguard the BC quota and ensure the elections take place smoothly within the court’s deadline.
