In the NEET student dead case, a special POCSO court in Patna rejected the bail plea of hostel owner Manish Ranjan. The decision came after detailed hearings, where the court reviewed arguments from both sides.

The NEET student dead case involves serious allegations linked to the death of a minor student who stayed at Ranjan’s hostel. The court noted that the investigation is still ongoing and said granting bail at this stage could affect the probe.

The judge also highlighted the seriousness of the accusations, which include charges under the POCSO Act. Officials said investigators are still examining key evidence, including witness statements and forensic reports.

Ranjan remains in judicial custody at Beur Jail. The court said he can apply for bail again later if circumstances change.

Meanwhile, the CBI continues its investigation to find out the exact cause of the student’s death and complete pending inquiries.

A court in Patna raised tough questions in the NEET student death case and asked why the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stayed inactive for nearly 20 days. The judge also asked who is responsible for keeping hostel owner Manish Ranjan in jail during this period.

The hearing took place in a special POCSO court while considering Manish Ranjan’s regular bail plea. He owns the building where Shambhu Girls’ Hostel operates. The case relates to the suspicious death of a NEET aspirant earlier this year.

During the hearing, the court noted that the SIT had already handed over all case documents to the CBI. Yet the agency reportedly took no action for 20 days in the NEET student death case. The judge asked whether officials knew that Manish Ranjan was still in jail and questioned who would take responsibility for the delay.

The court also expressed concern over the slow pace of the investigation. It said agencies must act quickly in sensitive cases involving students.

NEET Girl Mysterious Death: CBI to Investigate Under POCSO After Govt Corrects Order The NEET girl mysterious death case in Bihar has taken a major turn after the state government allowed the CBI to investigate the matter under the POCSO Act. Officials issued a revised notification that added strict legal sections related to sexual offences against minors. The NEET girl mysterious death case involves a 17-year-old medical aspirant from Jehanabad who stayed in a girls’ hostel in Patna while preparing for the NEET exam. She was found unconscious in her hostel room on January 6 and later died in hospital on January 11 after remaining in a coma for several days. Initially, the FIR filed by Patna Police did not include charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. During the hearing, the court questioned why these serious sections were missing despite allegations of sexual assault. After the court’s remarks, the Bihar Home Department corrected its earlier order. The revised notification now allows the CBI to investigate the case under POCSO sections and other relevant laws. The girl’s family has alleged rape and murder since the beginning and demanded a fair investigation. The case continues to draw public attention as the CBI probe moves forward.

The NEET student dead case has raised serious concerns about hostel safety and supervision. The CBI team reached the hostel in the afternoon and spoke to the staff for more than three hours.

Officials asked detailed questions about what happened on January 5 and 6. They wanted to know who first saw the student, who informed the family, and what steps the hostel staff took afterward. The team also checked visitor records and asked whether the student met anyone after returning from her home in Jehanabad.

The 17-year-old NEET aspirant was found unconscious in her room and later died at a private hospital. Her family has alleged foul play. The CBI has now taken charge of the investigation and is examining all evidence.

Digital Arrest Fraud has emerged as a serious cybercrime threat in Bihar. Following strict directions from the Supreme Court, Digital Arrest Fraud cases registered across cyber and police stations in the state will now be investigated by the CBI. The move comes after a sharp rise in complaints, especially from Patna.

More than 100 cases of digital arrest fraud have been reported in Bihar this year. Nearly half of them occurred in the state capital. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU), which handles cybercrime cases, has started collecting full details from all police and cyber stations.

In digital arrest fraud cases, criminals pose as officers from agencies like the CBI or ED. They threaten victims with arrest through video or audio calls. Fear and pressure force victims to transfer large sums of money.

The Supreme Court has asked the CBI to dismantle the entire network. Judges warned that the scam may be part of a nationwide organised racket.

Investigators have also raised concerns about banks. In several cases, huge amounts moved through accounts without alerts or blocks. Last year, a retired Patna University professor lost over ₹3 crore to such threats.

The RBI is now considering AI and machine learning tools to detect suspicious accounts and freeze illegal funds faster.

SIM Box Fraud: CBI searches for 264 SIM holders linked to a major cyber scam spread across Bihar, Bengal, and Telangana.

The SIM Box Fraud case has triggered a large investigation by the CBI. The agency is searching for 264 SIM holders whose numbers were used in a major cyber scam. The SIM Box Fraud network operated in Bihar, West Bengal, and even connected to Telangana.

The SIM Box Fraud came to light after raids in Bhojpur, Bihar. Officials found a setup that turned international VoIP calls into local calls. The system used fake SIM cards issued with false names and addresses. A second SIM box was later found in Samastipur, where many fake SIM cards from North Bihar were recovered.

Investigators traced the activation of 264 SIMs to two men from West Bengal and Rajnagar. Telangana’s Counter Intelligence Cell had earlier warned that such illegal systems might help terror groups by routing secret calls.

In just two days, between July 5 and 7, the gang made over 20,000 calls using 67 SIM cards. All SIMs were activated from West Bengal using fake identities. BSNL’s technical team later tracked the SIM operations and shared details with investigators.

The Rouse Avenue Court will announce its decision today in the IRCTC scam case, which involves Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav. The court will decide whether they and 11 others will face trial. This IRCTC scam case concerns alleged corruption in awarding hotel maintenance contracts during Lalu Yadav’s term as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.

Investigators claim contracts were exchanged for three acres of land acquired through a benami company linked to Lalu Yadav. In July 2017, the CBI raided properties in Patna, Ranchi, Delhi, and Gurugram. The agency says there is enough evidence to frame charges, but Lalu’s lawyer argues the case lacks a legal base. The court’s order could have political impact ahead of state elections, making it a key moment in Bihar’s political scene.
