Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his personality rights. He stated that several individuals were posting content on social media that damaged his reputation. Moreover, his counsel informed the court that many such posts were circulating on e-commerce platforms as well. Pawan Kalyan requested strict action against these unauthorised activities.

The court heard the petition today and issued key directions. It ordered the removal of all objectionable links within seven days. Additionally, it instructed Pawan Kalyan’s legal team to submit the URLs of the disputed posts to the concerned social media companies within 48 hours. The court then adjourned the case to December 22 for the next hearing.

Several top Telugu actors recently filed similar petitions. Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and Jr NTR approached the High Court earlier, seeking protection for their names and likeness. Their concerns mainly involved unauthorised use of their identity through AI-generated images and misleading online content.

Furthermore, many Bollywood celebrities, including Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, raised comparable issues in the past. They argued that their images and names were being misused for commercial gain without consent. Hence, more celebrities are turning to courts to safeguard their digital identity.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan moved the Delhi High Court, alleging misuse of her photos, videos, and voice without consent. The court responded with a strong ruling on September 11, protecting her personal and publicity rights.

The High Court said no platform or person can use her name, likeness, or voice without approval. It noted that websites and digital platforms had circulated fake and obscene content, including AI-generated deepfakes, damaging her reputation.

The court issued a temporary injunction and directed platforms to remove all unauthorized content within 72 hours. It also ruled that deepfake or AI-created content without consent is unlawful. The order will remain valid until January 15, 2026, giving the actress time-bound legal protection.

This ruling provided Aishwarya Rai major relief after weeks of viral fake content online. With the judgment, she secured legal backing to defend her identity and ensure stricter checks on online misuse. The case is seen as a landmark step against digital impersonation and abuse in India.

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has received legal protection on his personality rights from the Delhi High Court, just days after his wife and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was granted a similar order. The development marks a significant step in safeguarding celebrity rights in India against unauthorized commercial use of their identity.

The Delhi High Court directed that Abhishek Bachchan’s name, voice, likeness, and other aspects of his personality cannot be exploited without consent. This protection is aimed at preventing misuse in advertisements, online platforms, deepfakes, and other commercial ventures that could harm reputation or mislead the public.

Earlier this week, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was granted similar protection, citing the growing misuse of AI-driven tools to create manipulated videos and unauthorized content featuring celebrities. The court acknowledged that such content could misrepresent public figures and violate their privacy.

With Abhishek also securing relief, the Bachchan family has now taken strong legal steps to ensure that their public image and brand value remain under their control. Legal experts note that this ruling will strengthen the broader case for personality rights in India, where concerns about misuse of celebrity likenesses are rising with the spread of digital media.

Abhishek Bachchan has had a long career spanning films, web series, and endorsements. The new order ensures that no third party can commercially exploit his persona without proper authorization.

The ruling adds momentum to the growing debate around celebrity rights in the digital age. It also highlights how courts are adapting to protect individuals from the risks posed by emerging technologies such as deepfakes and unauthorized AI-generated content.

Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Delhi HC Case has brought fresh focus on misuse of celebrity identity in the digital world. Rai has moved the Delhi High Court after discovering that several websites were using her name to sell merchandise without her permission. Adding to the concern, AI-generated morphed images of her were also being circulated online.

The bench of Justice Tejas Karia heard the matter and confirmed that injunction orders will be passed against websites involved in unauthorised use of her images. Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Rai, flagged websites like aishwaryaworld.com that falsely claimed to be her “official” portal. Another entity, ‘Aishwarya Nation Wealth,’ had even listed her as chairperson, though she had no association with it.

Sethi further revealed that unknown individuals were collecting money by misusing her name and circulating fake intimate images. He stressed that these were AI-generated and purely fraudulent. The court also asked Google’s counsel to take down the infringing links mentioned in the suit.

This is not the first such case. In 2023, the Bachchan family had sought legal action against false online claims about their daughter Aaradhya. The Aishwarya Rai Delhi HC Case underlines the urgent need to safeguard celebrity rights in the digital era.
