The alert covers Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla and Simdega. IMD advises residents to stay warm and avoid early-morning exposure, as several places recorded temperatures below 10°C.

Gumla felt the strongest impact of the cold wave with a minimum temperature of 6.6°C, the lowest in the state. Lohardaga followed with 7.6°C. Ranchi also saw a significant dip, recording 10.2°C, nearly three degrees below normal.

Khunti recorded a minimum of 7.8°C, while Latehar stood at 8.6°C. Daltonganj reported 8.8°C, and Saraikela-Kharsawan stayed relatively warmer at 11.4°C.

IMD expects the cold wave to continue until Tuesday morning. Local authorities have urged people to take precautions, especially children and the elderly, as winter conditions intensify earlier than usual.
