Several Janata Dal (United) MLAs have openly backed the Nishant Kumar Chief Minister demand after he entered active politics. A group of around 14 JD(U) legislators reportedly formed a team to promote his leadership in Bihar.

MLAs including Ruhail Ranjan, Chetan Anand, and Vishal Prashant have expressed support for Nishant Kumar and believe he can carry forward the development work started by his father, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Their move has intensified the Nishant Kumar Chief Minister demand inside the party.

The MLAs say Nishant’s simple lifestyle and clean image make him a strong leader for the future. They also claim that young leaders and party workers are enthusiastic about his entry into politics.

Nishant Kumar recently joined JD(U), marking the start of his political career. His entry has sparked discussions about possible leadership changes in Bihar, especially as Nitish Kumar prepares for a possible move to the Rajya Sabha.

For now, party leaders have not made any official announcement about the chief minister’s post.

New MLAs took oath in the Bihar Assembly on Monday. Chetan Anand Blessings Tejashwi Yadav became the highlight of the day. Chetan Anand, the son of former MP Anand Mohan, took oath as the MLA from Nabinagar. After taking oath, he touched Tejashwi Yadav’s feet and sought his blessings.
This gesture showed Chetan Anand Blessings Tejashwi Yadav as a sign of respect and personal bonding.

Chetan Anand said Tejashwi is like an elder brother. He also touched the feet of Nitish Kumar and Vijay Chaudhary. He said that politics may create differences, but personal relations must stay strong.

During the 2024 political shift, Chetan Anand left the RJD and joined the NDA. In the 2025 election, he won the Nabinagar seat on a JDU ticket by only 112 votes. A total of 235 MLAs were sworn in on Monday.

He also spoke about the tension in Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family. He said disagreements do not end relationships and everyone has freedom to speak.
