Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, who postponed the original November 16 programme to personally attend, praised the strengthened relationship between the state government and the media under the SKM administration, describing it as rooted in trust, openness, and mutual respect. He acknowledged journalists’ challenges, including the rise of misinformation, and reaffirmed government support through initiatives like the Sikkim Swastha Suraksha Yojana, enhanced advertisement rates, and institutional recognition through awards.

Congratulating awardees, the Chief Minister urged the media to continue serving as Sikkim’s “Third Eye”, reporting responsibly, combating misinformation, and highlighting youth and social issues.
