The IMD explained that a low-pressure area in the northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified and is moving west-northwest. By Wednesday morning, it could reach the south coast of Andhra Pradesh and northern Tamil Nadu. The system may strengthen further, turning into a cyclonic storm within 24 hours. Another low-pressure system may form in the southern Bay of Bengal over the weekend.

Heavy rainfall with lightning is expected across the state over the next five days. Specific districts like Nellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, YSR Kadapa, Annamayya, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nandyal, Kurnool, and Anantapur are forecasted to receive intense rain. Coastal winds may blow at 35–55 km/h, creating rough sea conditions until Saturday.

Authorities urged residents in low-lying areas to remain alert. The public is advised to use emergency numbers 112, 1070, or 18004250101 for assistance. People should avoid standing under trees or traveling into unsafe zones during the storm and rainfall events.
