The Shahi Imam said, “Punjab has given us immense love, and now it is time to give back.” From Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttarakhand, Muslims are contributing generously to help Punjab recover.

Apart from financial help, 150–200 volunteers are serving in flood-hit villages, with NGOs backing their work. Essentials like medical kits, ration, mosquito nets, and repellents are being supplied. An ambulance has also been donated for relief work.

Volunteers are carefully verifying Aadhaar cards before handing over cheques to ensure genuine families get help. More families will be supported in the next phase.

This movement not only strengthens Punjab flood relief but also showcases the true spirit of communal harmony and humanity.

While political parties like AAP and Congress fought for credit, the Sikh volunteers quietly stepped in. They laid stones, mixed cement, and provided meals to workers. “The wall may belong to a temple, but protecting a place of worship is everyone’s duty,” said Satnam Singh, a volunteer.

Congress leader KP Rana announced Rs 1.21 crore for repairs, and AAP minister Harjot Singh Bains launched Kar Seva with Rs 25 lakh sanctioned from disaster funds. Technical labour was also hired due to the challenging location near Nangal lake.

Yet, the real spirit came from the Sikh volunteers who worked tirelessly without banners or cameras. Locals were touched. “This is the Punjab I know,” said Rajesh Sharma, a shopkeeper.

This unity between Sikh and Hindu communities has turned a political fight into a moving story of communal harmony and shared devotion.
