Mahesh Kumar Goud said the BJP is using Pawan Kalyan as part of a larger political strategy. He claimed that the party wants to gain support in Telangana by taking advantage of Pawan Kalyan’s popularity among youth and voters. The Pawan Kalyan BJP Plan Row gained attention after his recent political activities in Hyderabad.

Speaking to the media, Goud criticized both the BJP and Jana Sena. He questioned their political intentions and said Congress remains committed to protecting Telangana’s interests. He also accused the BJP of focusing on political expansion instead of addressing public issues.

The remarks have triggered reactions from political circles. Leaders from BJP and Jana Sena are expected to respond to the allegations in the coming days. The issue has added a new dimension to the political competition in Telangana ahead of future elections.

Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said having ambitions in politics is natural, but leadership positions depend on destiny and public support. Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on CM post became widely discussed after he clarified that he will not chase unrealistic ambitions or struggle for positions that are beyond reach.

He also responded to speculation that he might try to become Chief Minister if an opportunity appears. The minister said some people misunderstood comments made in political discussions. According to him, he does not run any separate group of MLAs and considers himself part of the Congress party.

Speaking about his journey, he said he comes from a farmer’s family and worked in agriculture before succeeding in business and politics. He added that he entered politics and became an MP within 13 months.

Local body elections in Telangana have turned intense after the first phase of Sarpanch results. Although the ruling Congress secured the highest number of seats, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi also won a significant share. Therefore, leaders from both parties have gone on alert. Congress leaders have now focused sharply on the second and third phases of polling scheduled for later this month.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leaders have begun holding discussions with local representatives in polling areas. They believe stronger coordination can help the party win more seats. With only one day left for the second phase, leaders have urged cadres to work harder at the ground level. At the same time, party leadership has stressed discipline and unity to avoid internal damage.

On the other hand, BRS leaders have also reviewed their performance closely. They feel better mobilization could have improved results in the first phase. As a result, the party has intensified efforts in upcoming phases. Both parties now aim to maximize their seat count and strengthen village-level influence.

Interestingly, several MLAs failed to secure wins in their own villages despite winning large constituencies earlier. This trend has triggered political debate across the state. Analysts say local dynamics differ from state politics. In total, Congress won 2,864 villages, BRS secured 1,143, BJP won 185, and others took 43 seats.

The first phase of Gram Panchayat elections in the united Palamuru district concluded on Thursday. Congress-backed candidates gained an overall edge across several mandals. However, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi delivered an unexpected and strong challenge. The results reflected mixed voter sentiment across constituencies.

In Kodangal constituency, represented by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Congress candidates dominated the polls. Across Maddur, Kosgi, Kothapally, and Gundumal mandals, Congress secured 52 of 67 seats. The remaining seats were won by other candidates. This outcome strengthened Congress’s position in the Chief Minister’s constituency.

In Mahabubnagar district, results remained evenly balanced in some mandals. Mahabubnagar Rural mandal saw Congress and BRS win 12 seats each. Meanwhile, Congress maintained an advantage in Mohammadabad and Gandeed mandals. These results highlighted close competition between the two parties.

Jadcherla constituency delivered a major setback to the ruling party. In Rajapur mandal, BRS won 17 seats, while Congress secured only four. Notably, the Congress candidate lost in the MLA’s native village Rangareddygudem. Overall, the first phase results favored Congress, but BRS emerged stronger than expected.

Congress senior leader and former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin took oath as a Telangana minister on Friday. The ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan, where Governor Jishnu Dev Varma administered the oath. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, and other ministers attended the event.

Political circles are now abuzz with speculation over which portfolio Azharuddin will receive. Reports suggest he may be assigned either the Home or Minority Welfare department. The final decision is expected within the next couple of days, according to party sources.

So far, there have been no Muslim representatives in the Telangana Cabinet. Opposition parties have criticized the government over this issue and even used it as a major talking point during the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign. By inducting Azharuddin, the Congress aims to strengthen minority representation and gain support in the upcoming by-election.

Azharuddin, inspired by his uncle Jainulabuddin, began his cricket journey in the early 1980s and made his international debut in 1984. He later captained Team India, earning widespread acclaim for his leadership and remarkable performances on the field.

The Congress high command is reportedly planning a major cabinet reshuffle in Telangana after the upcoming local body elections. Ministers with poor performance are likely to be replaced with new faces. With Azharuddin recently inducted, two cabinet positions remain vacant, and the leadership intends to fill them soon. Party sources suggest the reshuffle may aim to balance community representation and strengthen governance.

Performance-based evaluation will determine the fate of current ministers. Since assuming power, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and 12 ministers have faced mixed reviews. Several ministers have been criticized for underperformance and corruption allegations, while some of their aides have faced public backlash. The outcome of the local body elections is expected to play a key role in shaping their political future.

Reports suggest that two BC and two OC ministers may be dropped during the reshuffle, but replacements from the same communities will likely be chosen to avoid unrest. The party may also enforce a “one family, one minister” rule. Those exiting the cabinet could be accommodated with AICC responsibilities.

Aspirants like MLAs Sudarshan Reddy, Mal Reddy, Rajagopal Reddy, Prem Sagar Rao, and MLA Balunayak are lobbying for cabinet positions. Actress and MLC Vijayashanti is also said to be hopeful of induction during the reshuffle.

Hyderabad: A rift appears to be brewing within the Telangana Cabinet, with reports suggesting that Minister Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali have lodged a complaint with the Congress high command against Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.

According to sources, the Konda couple alleged that Ponguleti was interfering excessively in the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara development works, particularly in the allocation of ₹71 crore worth of tenders, allegedly favoring his close associates.

Surekha, who heads the Endowments Department, is said to have expressed strong dissatisfaction over Ponguleti’s growing influence and encroachment on her ministry’s jurisdiction. She reportedly raised the issue with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, seeking intervention. The matter has sparked discussions in political circles about internal power tussles within the Congress government, especially over control of major temple-related projects and festival management contracts.
