A senior police officer said teams recovered the country-made bombs on Thursday. Security personnel acted quickly and defused all explosives at a safe location. The operation formed part of ongoing counter-insurgency and area-dominance drives in the district.

In a separate action, security forces recovered three firearms and ammunition from the Langdum Nungjengbi area on Wednesday. Officials said the recovery helped prevent possible attacks and strengthened local security.

Security agencies have continued intensive search operations across Manipur since ethnic violence erupted two years ago. Authorities aim to locate hidden arms, explosives, and illegal groups operating in sensitive areas.

The state has faced prolonged unrest since May 2023, when clashes between Meitei and Kuki-Zo groups began. More than 260 people have lost their lives, while thousands of families have fled their homes.

After the resignation of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, the Centre imposed President’s Rule in Manipur. The State Assembly, which runs until 2027, remains under suspended animation.

Officials said security forces will maintain strict vigilance. They urged citizens to cooperate and report suspicious activity to ensure peace and stability.
