In the lover stomach slit open private part chopped case, a Bihar court has sentenced four people to life imprisonment for a brutal murder that shocked the state. The crime took place in Rohtas district and involved a planned killing driven by a personal relationship dispute.

The victim was called to meet his girlfriend. Her husband, father, and brother were already present. They attacked the man with sharp weapons. They slit his stomach and cut his private parts. After the murder, they hung the body from a plant to mislead the police.

The victim’s father later filed a complaint, which led to a detailed investigation. During the trial, several witnesses supported the prosecution’s case. The court said the evidence clearly proved the guilt of all four accused.

The judge described the crime as extremely cruel. The court said the punishment was necessary to deliver justice and deter such violent acts. The lover stomach slit open private part chopped case now stands as a strong example of strict legal action.

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has delivered its verdict in the Thiruparankundram Karthigai Deepam case. The court heard arguments from petitioners and the Tamil Nadu government. Petitioners said law-and-order fears were speculative and could not stop religious practice.

The Tamil Nadu government raised security concerns over lighting the Deepam at the hilltop stone pillar. Officials argued that the location near the dargah required strict control. They warned that unrestricted access could create safety challenges during the ritual.

The division bench allowed the Karthigai Deepam to be lit at the hilltop pillar. The court directed temple authorities to conduct the ritual. It also ordered safeguards, restricted public access, and protection of monuments under the Archaeological Survey of India.

The court disposed of all related petitions and appeals. It instructed the district administration to ensure public safety and maintain order. Authorities must coordinate security arrangements during the event. The ruling balances religious rights with law-and-order responsibilities.

The Rouse Avenue Court will announce its decision today in the IRCTC scam case, which involves Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav. The court will decide whether they and 11 others will face trial. This IRCTC scam case concerns alleged corruption in awarding hotel maintenance contracts during Lalu Yadav’s term as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.

Investigators claim contracts were exchanged for three acres of land acquired through a benami company linked to Lalu Yadav. In July 2017, the CBI raided properties in Patna, Ranchi, Delhi, and Gurugram. The agency says there is enough evidence to frame charges, but Lalu’s lawyer argues the case lacks a legal base. The court’s order could have political impact ahead of state elections, making it a key moment in Bihar’s political scene.

Pratibha Patil’s brother and nephew stated that Rawal had filed a legal claim, but the court rejected it. They allege that Rawal and his supporters refused to leave the land, ignoring the court order.

Uday Patil, the former President’s nephew, said that when they tried to take possession, Rawal’s loyalists blocked them. He added that the minister uses local goons to intimidate the family. Police, he claimed, did not act on their complaints.

The Delhi High Court on September 24, 2025, granted relief to music composer A.R. Rahman in a copyright dispute linked to the song ‘Veera Raja Veera’ from the 2023 film Ponniyin Selvan 2. The court set aside an earlier order in the case, a significant victory for Rahman and his team.

A bench comprising Justice C. Hari Shankar and Justice Om Prakash Shukla heard Rahman’s appeal against a single judge bench order dated April 25, 2025. That order had found prima facie grounds for alleged copyright infringement against Rahman regarding the song. The High Court’s latest ruling overturned this, allowing Rahman to continue without the burden of the earlier order.

Rahman’s legal counsel welcomed the verdict. They said Rahman has always respected copyright laws and emphasised the need for a thorough examination before passing any adverse order. The bench echoed this reasoning, noting that originality disputes require careful scrutiny.

This ruling holds significance for India’s creative and film industry, where copyright cases are increasingly common. The decision may set a precedent in how courts examine allegations of music plagiarism, especially involving high-profile works.

The song ‘Veera Raja Veera’, part of Ponniyin Selvan 2, had gained widespread popularity for its composition and melody. The case had stirred discussions about copyright boundaries in music creation. With this verdict, Rahman not only gains relief in this case but also strengthens his position in the larger debate on artistic originality in India.

An Indian national and Singapore permanent resident, Ankit Sharma, 46, was sentenced on Monday to four years in prison and six strokes of the cane. The court found him guilty of molesting a woman at Changi City Point mall.

Sharma had dragged a 31-year-old technology recruiter into a nursing room on March 1, 2023, where he kissed her forcefully and made repeated sexual advances despite her resistance. The victim had met Sharma for the first time that evening after a colleague shared his profile.

Sharma denied the charges, claiming the woman consented and suggested going to the nursing room. The defence argued the encounter was voluntary but escalated after a remark about her breath. The court rejected this and described Sharma’s actions as “extremely high” in sexual exploitation.

The prosecution sought a sentence of at least four years and six strokes, which was accepted by the court.

The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on whether Governors and the President must follow a fixed timeline to approve bills. The matter came from a Presidential reference filed by Droupadi Murmu, who sought clarity on pending legislation.

During hearings, the Centre argued that strict deadlines could weaken constitutional balance and reduce discretionary powers of constitutional heads. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Punjab countered this view, saying deadlines are essential to protect democracy and ensure accountability.

Earlier, the Supreme Court ruled in the Tamil Nadu case that Governors cannot keep bills pending indefinitely. The judges said action must be taken within a reasonable period. The new case expands that principle to include the President’s role as well.

The final verdict is expected to clarify the powers of Governors and the President. It may also set guidelines for handling bills in the future. Political circles across the country are watching closely, as the decision could reshape Centre–state relations.

The Land-for-Jobs scam case reached a crucial stage in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. On Wednesday, the court heard arguments on the CBI chargesheet against RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi, Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, and others. The judge reserved the order, setting October 13, 2025, as the date for the verdict.

The CBI claims that during his time as Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad arranged jobs in return for land deals. Several plots in Bihar allegedly moved into the names of his family members. Investigators filed multiple cases and charges against Lalu’s relatives and associates after years of inquiry.

The reserved order has triggered political tension in Bihar. If convicted, the Yadav family may face serious damage to its political future. The outcome could also affect the RJD’s standing and the INDIA bloc’s prospects in the state elections.

Analysts believe the verdict will shape both politics and governance in Bihar. A conviction may weaken RJD’s alliance position, while an acquittal could energize its campaign. All eyes now remain on October 13, when the court’s decision could reset Bihar’s political stage.

The Telangana High Court delivered a sensational verdict on the TSPSC Group-1 examination. The court directed the cancellation of the previously announced General Rankings List and ordered a fresh evaluation of the mains answer sheets. Results can only be released after this revaluation.

The bench of Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwara Rao granted eight months’ time for the revaluation process. If revaluation cannot be completed within this period, the court instructed the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to conduct the mains examination again.

The issue began when several candidates alleged irregularities in the valuation of Group-1 mains papers. They approached the High Court, seeking cancellation of the results. After a detailed hearing, the bench reserved judgment on July 7 and has now issued its final directions.

TSPSC had announced the Group-1 mains results in April this year. However, the High Court observed serious lapses in the evaluation process. With the rankings list now scrapped, the commission faces the challenge of completing revaluation or preparing for fresh exams. This ruling has created uncertainty among thousands of aspirants but also raised hopes for a fair process.
