Priests performed special abhishekam for the main deity from midnight until early morning. After the rituals, they offered Maha Naivedyam and carried out Maha Bali as per temple customs. Devotees also joined the ceremonies and chanted the name of Goddess Gangamma throughout the night.

Later, the Rajaka priests prepared clay idols of the seven Gangammas and handed them to the seven village committees. Each committee then took its Gangamma idol to the respective Cheppara location. They began village festivities with traditional pujas and cultural customs. Moreover, the committees created attractive decorations using lights and modern setups to welcome devotees.

As the morning progressed, large crowds reached the town to witness the festival. Many devotees offered coconuts, lit camphor, and fulfilled their vows with deep devotion. The decorations of Ponnalamma, Ankalamma, and Bhuvaneshwari Devi received special attention and drew steady crowds.

Police teams also managed the event with tight security. They monitored crowd movement and arranged safe pathways. Throughout the day, the idols remained at their locations, and devotees continued to seek blessings until evening.

Tourism and Culture Minister Kandula Durgesh announced that the government will conduct mock assemblies in every district. During his visit to the Amaravati Balotsavam at Siddhartha College in Vijayawada, he interacted with students taking part in writing, speaking, dance and drawing contests. He praised children who appeared in cultural and historical costumes. In addition, Durgesh appreciated the organisers for handling the festival with remarkable commitment.

According to the minister, the coalition government aims to build a strong and value-driven education system. The education department, guided by Minister Nara Lokesh, is introducing several innovative ideas. Because of these efforts, the recent mock assembly on Constitution Day gave students a real understanding of democratic practices. It also strengthened their leadership skills and deepened their knowledge of legislative procedures.

Furthermore, Durgesh expressed hope that the three-day Amaravati Balotsavam would run smoothly. The event encourages creativity, environmental awareness and responsible habits among children. He stated that participating in such a meaningful programme felt like an honour. Festivals of this kind, he noted, help shape discipline, confidence and imagination in young learners.

The minister also highlighted the government’s educational support. Through the Talli Ki Vandanam scheme, mothers receive annual financial aid for their children’s studies. Outstanding students are recognised under the Shining Stars initiative. With regular parent-teacher meetings and new moral-value lessons by experts like Chaganti Koteswara Rao, students are gaining clearer direction. Consequently, the government hopes to prepare them for leadership in every field.

Punjab Governor Unveils MLBF All India Mushaira Poster during a heartfelt ceremony in Ferozepur, and the moment immediately set an inspiring tone for the upcoming literary festival. Hon’ble Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria led the unveiling with warmth, and the gathering welcomed the gesture with pride. Moreover, the ceremony highlighted Punjab’s deep emotional bond with its cultural roots.

Dr. Gaurav Sagar Bhaskar, General Secretary of the Mohan Lal Bhaskar Foundation (MLBF), joined the Governor and shared insights about this year’s celebration. Additionally, Dr. S. N. Rudra, Vice President of MLBF, explained that the Mushaira reflects Punjab’s values of respect, unity, and emotional strength. “Respect Elders” remains the guiding phrase of the Foundation, and it appears repeatedly across MLBF programmes. Consequently, the Mushaira has become an event that blends literature with moral responsibility.

The 21st edition of the Mushaira will be held on November 29, 2025, at Vivekananda World School, Ferozepur. Furthermore, the event will feature a rich lineup of celebrated Urdu poets, including Janab Mehshar Afridi, Janab M. F. Farooqui, Janab Rabrez Rana, Mohtarma Himanshi Babra, Janab Charag Sharma, Janab Amardeep Singh, Janab Ibrahim Zeeshan, and Janab Rajesh Mohan. Their participation will, therefore, ensure an evening filled with soulful poetry and meaningful reflection.

Ferozepur’s cultural heritage makes it an ideal location for this mission. Notably, MLBF continues to strengthen intergenerational bonding through events such as its annual Elders’ Day celebration. Young people bow with gratitude, and elders respond with heartfelt blessings, creating a powerful emotional exchange. Moreover, the Foundation actively supports community service through eye-checkup camps and welfare programmes conducted with partners like Vivekananda World School.

Finally, the Mushaira stands as a reminder that literature, compassion, and tradition must grow together. Punjab Governor Unveils MLBF All India Mushaira Poster, reaffirming a legacy built on dignity, culture, and respect.

The Supreme Court on September 24, 2025, agreed to urgently hear a plea challenging an Allahabad High Court order that barred Ramlila celebrations at a school ground in Uttar Pradesh. The case raises a significant question: can “secular” school grounds host religious or ceremonial events without violating constitutional principles? Supreme Court to hear plea on Ramlila celebrations at school ground could set a major precedent.

The Allahabad High Court had earlier ruled against using a school playground for Ramlila. The court argued that such spaces should remain secular to maintain neutrality in public education. Petitioners have challenged this decision, stating that Ramlila is a cultural tradition and does not amount to religious promotion. They argue that restricting celebrations infringes on cultural expression and freedom of speech.

The Supreme Court’s decision to hear the case urgently reflects its importance. Lawyers representing petitioners said Ramlila is part of India’s cultural heritage and should be allowed at public spaces if they do not disrupt education. Opponents counter that school grounds belong to all and must remain free from religious or ceremonial activities to protect secularism.

The case has attracted attention across the country, as it touches on the balance between cultural tradition and constitutional secularism. If the Supreme Court rules in favour of petitioners, it could open the door for similar events in other public educational institutions.

Legal experts say the case could set a benchmark for defining how cultural festivals intersect with secular spaces in India. The hearing could influence policies on the use of public spaces nationwide.
