Amaravati will soon host India’s first “Quantum Valley” for research and innovation, while Google will invest $15 billion in a 1-gigawatt hyperscale data center in Visakhapatnam. Similar to how Microsoft transformed Hyderabad’s IT landscape, these projects will make Andhra Pradesh a hub for global digital infrastructure.

The Google AI hub will use advanced liquid cooling systems, reducing water and power use by 20%. It will also generate 80% of its electricity from solar power. With India now producing 20% of global data but having only 3% storage capacity, Visakhapatnam’s data center expansion is a timely move.

Experts predict this initiative could create over 150,000 jobs. The government plans to focus on AI skill development to meet workforce demand. If successful, Google’s Visakhapatnam hub could solidify India’s position as a global AI powerhouse.
