]]> Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced new measures to tackle Delhi’s air pollution, highlighting dirt and dust on roads as a major contributor. She stated that budget provisions had been made for purchasing and installing advanced machinery to clean streets.

The Rekha-led BJP government has planned to deploy Mechanical Road Sweeping (MRS) machines, water sprinklers, and anti-smog guns across Delhi. These machines are expected to significantly reduce pollution levels by cleaning roads and controlling dust.

On Monday, CM Rekha Gupta and Environment Minister Manjeet Singh Sirsa observed the demonstration of these machines. Gupta said that 70 MRS machines will be deployed, along with rented sprinklers and anti-smog guns, to ensure Delhi stays clean throughout the year.

The CM explained that the upgraded MRS machines can remove large waste, eliminate dust, spray water, and collect garbage efficiently.

Earlier, on May 20, Gupta had announced that the cabinet approved a comprehensive sanitation and dust control plan for PWD roads, which includes 250 water sprinklers with anti-smog guns, 70 MRS machines, 210 sprinklers, 18 dump vehicles, and 18 water tankers.
