Residents of Bhavanipuram Jojinagar in Vijayawada met former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy today. The meeting took place after authorities demolished 42 houses in the locality following court orders. The victims said their families had lived there for many years and lost everything after the demolition. They explained that they were left without shelter and requested Jagan to pressure the government for justice.

Several victims shared that they bought the land with proper registration documents. They added that they built their homes using bank loans. They said officials brought down the structures without giving them enough time to respond. Many residents became emotional while explaining their situation to Jagan.

The victims claimed that the demolition created a severe crisis for their children and elderly family members. They urged immediate relief and rehabilitation support. They stated that the government should verify their ownership papers before taking strict action. They also demanded clear answers from local authorities.

Jagan assured the families that he would extend full support. He said he would explore legal and humanitarian options to help the affected residents. He also promised to raise the issue at appropriate platforms. The victims expressed hope after receiving his assurance.

GHMC-HYDERABAD officials carried out a demolition drive on Monday morning in the Gachibowli layout of the Fertilizers Corporation of India Employees Cooperative Housing Society. They acted after the High Court objected to alleged encroachments by Sridhar Rao, the owner of Sandhya Convention. Several affected plot owners had filed complaints, and the court had shown strong displeasure last week over the reported illegal constructions.

Officials informed the court that Sridhar Rao had occupied layout roads and park spaces and converted them for his personal construction. They said the approved 20-acre layout has more than 162 plots, and Rao claimed most of them. This created fear among the remaining owners. One woman owner also told the court that Rao threatened her and filed false police cases when she raised objections.

The plot owners said they approached HYDERABAD officials for protection because they faced attacks and pressure. The officials inspected the site, confirmed the road encroachments, and prepared for the clearance drive. The Supreme Court had earlier imposed a ₹10 lakh penalty on Sandhya Sridhar Rao after reviewing related complaints.

After hearing the submissions, Justice Vijayasen Reddy ordered the authorities to restore the original roads and park areas. He assured support for genuine plot owners. The court scheduled the final hearing for the 18th of this month. Officials then moved quickly and demolished the unauthorised structures and sheds inside the layout as part of the court-directed action.

Officials said the demolition happened during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday after investigators confirmed his role in the Delhi blast.

The blast near Red Fort on Monday night killed 13 people and injured several others. According to investigators, Umar drove the Hyundai i20 packed with explosives. DNA samples from the site matched those of his mother, confirming his identity. The Pulwama house Dr Umar developments have raised concern across the Valley.

Umar, once known as an academically strong professional, reportedly drifted toward radical ideology over the last two years.
