At Tirumala, the sacred Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam ritual was performed with grandeur on Tuesday as part of the ongoing Brahmotsavams. The cleansing ceremony was conducted in a traditional manner inside the Lord Venkateswara temple. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, temple priests, senior officials, and staff participated in the event.

As part of the ritual, the sanctum and surrounding sub-temples were covered with fragrant herbal and aromatic mixtures. The walls, floors, and puja materials inside the temple premises were purified in accordance with scriptural procedures. After the cleansing, the priests began preparing for special services to the presiding deity. Devotees were allowed darshan only after 10 a.m., once the rituals concluded.

Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam is conducted four times a year in the Tirumala temple. Traditionally, it is performed ahead of Ugadi Asthanam, Anivara Asthanam, the annual Brahmotsavams, and Vaikunta Ekadasi festival. The ritual symbolizes spiritual and physical purification of the shrine before major festivals.

This long-standing custom continues to attract the attention of devotees worldwide. The event emphasizes the importance of maintaining sanctity in one of India’s most revered temples, drawing thousands of pilgrims each year.
