The US-Iran conflict nearing its end has become a major topic after former US President Donald Trump made fresh comments about a possible peace agreement with Iran. Trump said negotiations were moving in a positive direction and hinted that both sides were close to a deal.

The US-Iran conflict nearing its end could help reduce tensions in the Middle East and stabilize global oil markets. Reports say the proposed agreement may include reopening the Strait of Hormuz and discussing Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump also claimed there was a “very good chance” of reaching a settlement after Iran reportedly sent a revised peace proposal through mediators. However, Iranian officials have given mixed responses about the discussions.

Several US lawmakers have raised concerns over the possible deal, saying it may give too many concessions to Iran. Still, diplomatic talks continue as global leaders watch the situation closely.

A US trade court delivered another setback after Donald Trump Tariffs Halted by a federal ruling that questioned the legality of the policy. The court said the government failed to justify the global import duties under US trade law. The decision adds pressure on the former president’s trade strategy.

The Donald Trump Tariffs Halted decision came from the U.S. Court of International Trade. In a 2–1 ruling, judges said the 10% global tariffs imposed earlier this year were not properly authorised under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974. Small businesses and the state of Washington had challenged the tariffs in court.

The ruling blocks the tariffs for two import companies and Washington state, but most importers will still pay them while the government appeals the decision. Experts say the case could lead to a long legal battle over trade policy and tariff refunds.

This judgment marks another legal hurdle for Donald Trump’s tariff agenda after earlier court challenges to similar policies.

Fingers on the trigger, Iran said on Wednesday after a warning issued by former U.S. President Donald Trump, signalling a tough military posture. Iran’s leadership said the country remains fully prepared to defend itself against any attack.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran’s Armed Forces are ready to respond immediately and forcefully to any aggression. He said the military is prepared to protect the nation’s land, air, and sea without hesitation.

The remarks came amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States. Trump recently issued strong statements that Iranian officials described as provocative and threatening.

Araghchi said Iran would not seek conflict but would not tolerate violations of its sovereignty. He stressed that Iran’s response would be decisive if its security is challenged.

Iranian officials said the country continues to strengthen its defence capabilities while monitoring regional and global developments closely. They added that deterrence remains central to Iran’s security policy.

Analysts said the exchange reflects growing uncertainty in West Asia, with sharp rhetoric adding to diplomatic strain. Both sides continue to trade warnings, even as calls grow for restraint and dialogue.

US President Donald Trump has said that he is open to supporting new legislation aimed at sanctioning countries that continue business ties with Russia amid the ongoing Ukraine war. Speaking to reporters, Trump said that Republican lawmakers are preparing a strict proposal that would penalise any nation trading with Moscow, especially in the energy sector.

Trump claimed that Russia’s global trading partners are indirectly supporting the war by purchasing Russian oil, gas and other key exports. India and China are among the countries likely to be affected by the proposed sanction framework, and Trump has previously labelled both nations as “primary funders” of Russia’s war efforts. He has already imposed a 25% “penalty tariff” on India, raising the total tariff level to 50% in August this year.

The former President hinted that Iran may also be added to the sanctions list, as the Republican Party plans to push the bill forward. According to a Bloomberg report, the legislation would allow Trump to levy tariffs of up to 500% on imports from countries that purchase Russian energy and do not actively support Ukraine.

Interestingly, Trump’s latest position follows failed peace outreach efforts with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Initially, he was reluctant to endorse extreme sanction policies as part of an attempt to negotiate a ceasefire, but with talks collapsing, he is now backing aggressive trade and diplomatic pressure.

Meanwhile, India and Russia have continued expanding bilateral trade, reiterating their goal of reaching USD 100 billion by 2030 and accelerating talks on the proposed India-Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) free trade agreement.

In a separate move aimed at easing inflation pressure, Trump recently lifted tariffs on over 20 food commodities, including beef, offering partial relief to Indian exporters of coffee, spices, tea, and cashews who were previously hit by doubled tariff duties.

He said on Truth Social that he has nothing to hide and wants the country to move forward. The trump calls for epstein files release message marked a clear shift from his earlier position.

Trump also accused Democrats of spreading an “Epstein hoax”. He reacted to old emails in which Jeffrey Epstein claimed Trump “knew about the girls”. Trump denied the claim and said the Justice Department already shared thousands of pages with the public.
Moreover, he urged Republicans to stay focused on major issues like inflation, jobs, border security, and investment.

Meanwhile, social media reacted strongly to a new set of emails from Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein. In one email, Mark asked Steve Bannon if Vladimir Putin holds a photo of “Trump blowing Bubba”. Many users linked “Bubba” to former President Bill Clinton, who has denied all wrongdoing connected to Epstein.
As a result, the online debate grew even louder.

Trump said the nation should stop wasting time on rumors. Therefore, he wants all legal documents released so that people can finally move on.

The BBC Apology to Trump story created a major global debate. The issue began when the BBC admitted that it used a misleading edit of Donald Trump’s January 6, 2021 speech in a Panorama documentary. The BBC Apology to Trump came after critics said the programme joined quotes that were almost an hour apart. This edit made the speech look like one strong call to action.

BBC Chair Samir Shah sent a personal apology to the White House. He said the network regretted the mistake. He also said the BBC saw no reason for Trump’s $1 billion defamation threat. Trump’s lawyer asked for compensation and a full retraction. He argued that the documentary hurt Trump’s reputation.

The BBC said it will not show the documentary again. It also said that a third-party team cut out key lines where Trump asked his supporters to stay peaceful. The issue grew bigger when Director-General Tim Davie and news chief Deborah Turness stepped down. They said the scandal hurt the BBC’s image.

Legal experts say Trump will struggle if he takes the case to court. The documentary never aired in the United States. Filing deadlines in the United Kingdom have also passed. Many analysts add that Trump’s 2024 election win weakens his claims of harm.

After a record 43-day federal government shutdown, the United States Congress on Wednesday approved a bill to reopen the government, ending the longest funding lapse in American history.

The House of Representatives passed the measure by a 222-209 vote, with six Democrats crossing party lines to support the Republican-led legislation. Thunderous applause filled the chamber as the bill cleared the final hurdle, paving the way for President Donald Trump’s signature later in the evening.

The shutdown had disrupted lives nationwide — leaving federal employees without paychecks, stranding travellers at airports, and forcing families to line up at food banks. Lawmakers returned to Capitol Hill this week after nearly eight weeks away to break the impasse.

The six Democrats who voted with Republicans were Jared Golden (Maine), Adam Gray (California), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Washington), Don Davis (North Carolina), Henry Cuellar (Texas), and Tom Suozzi (New York). Only two Republicans — Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Greg Steube of Florida — opposed the bill.

The White House confirmed that President Trump will sign the bill on camera from the Oval Office at 9:45 p.m. ET Wednesday (8:15 a.m. Thursday IST), marking the official end of the shutdown.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hinted earlier in the day that reporters might witness the signing live, replacing a previously scheduled private dinner. The televised ceremony will symbolize the reopening of federal operations and bring relief to millions of affected Americans.

The bill’s passage represents a rare bipartisan breakthrough following weeks of partisan stalemate in Washington.

Hundreds of flights have been cancelled and millions of federal workers have gone unpaid as the US government shutdown enters its 39th day. Essential services like air traffic control are being disrupted, leading to nearly 1,000 flight cancellations across major airports.

The crisis stems from a political standoff between Republicans and Democrats in the Senate over a temporary funding resolution. The measure, known as a “continuing resolution,” has been blocked by a filibuster that requires 60 votes to overcome. With only 53 votes, Republicans have been unable to move forward, despite pressure from former President Donald Trump to end the rule.

Democrats insist they will only support the funding bill if healthcare subsidies under Obamacare are extended. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said his party is ready to pass the bill once affordable healthcare is included. Republicans, however, refuse to negotiate on Obamacare provisions until the shutdown ends.

The prolonged shutdown is hurting both parties. Trump blames it for Republican losses, while Democrats face backlash as millions lose access to food programmes and salaries. Economists warn the impasse could cut US economic growth by up to two per cent this quarter.

U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Hamas, accusing the group of repeatedly violating the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Speaking at a media briefing, Trump said that if Hamas continues its acts of violence, the U.S. would support strong counter-measures that could lead to the group’s complete destruction.

He emphasized that the purpose of the ceasefire was to de-escalate tensions and reduce civilian suffering, and warned that continued violations would invite severe consequences. Trump stated that the U.S. still hopes the ceasefire will help restore peace, but made it clear that patience is limited and retaliation will be “unavoidable and intense” if the attacks continue.

His remarks come at a time when international pressure is mounting on both sides to honor ceasefire commitments, protect civilian lives, and work toward a long-term peace solution in the region.
