]]> Electoral Reforms Row created high tension in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey sharply reacted to Purnia MP Pappu Yadav. Dubey spoke about a 70-year-old man named Tajimul who wanted to join the voter list for the first time. He said this case shows how serious the voter-list problems are. Dubey asked why a man eligible at 18 never voted for 70 years.

Pappu Yadav tried to interrupt him. This made Dubey even angrier. He told Yadav to sit down and let him finish. He repeated that Tajimul truly wanted to become a voter at 70.

Dubey then spoke about his parents. They live in Delhi, so they cannot vote in Bihar. Their names were removed for that reason. He said he supported this rule.

He also criticised the Congress party. He reminded the House that the biggest change in voting age happened in 1988. Rajiv Gandhi reduced the voting age from 21 to 18.

Dubey later cited Bihar election data. He said NDA often wins by narrow margins. He added that the NDA does national politics, not vote-bank politics.
