Under the new rule, officials will issue only one challan per vehicle per day for the same violation. Even if cameras or traffic teams spot the vehicle at different places, they will not generate extra fines for the same offence.

Many drivers had complained that they received several challans in one day for one error. The department reviewed these complaints and acted quickly.

Authorities have also upgraded the mobile monitoring system. Traffic police can now check in real time whether a challan already exists for that vehicle on the same day.

The department says the move will reduce harassment, improve transparency, and make enforcement more practical for everyone.
