Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was reportedly upset with the Finance Department for not ensuring timely salaries to outsourcing and contract employees. He reminded officers that clear orders were issued earlier to pay these workers through the green channel. According to reports, he received information from intelligence and employee unions about salary delays across districts.

A review meeting was held two days ago with senior officials from the Finance Department and other departments. During the discussion, the Chief Minister questioned why salaries were not being released on time. He expressed concern that low-paid workers were facing hardship because their earnings were not reaching them as scheduled.

The Chief Minister reportedly pointed out that regular employees were receiving their salaries on the first day of every month. He strongly advised that small workers should also receive payments within the first week. He said timely salaries would motivate employees to deliver government schemes and development programmes more effectively.

State sources indicate that more than two lakh outsourcing workers are employed in various departments. Many have been facing long delays in payments. The Chief Minister warned that such negligence could affect the government’s image and directed officials to ensure timely salaries from next month.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Transco will hold key discussions today with the Power Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) to address their pending issues and avert the proposed strike scheduled from October 15.

In its letter to the JAC, Transco stated that the organization is committed to resolving employee concerns through dialogue and cooperation. The management urged the unions to consider the public and state’s larger interests while ensuring the smooth functioning of power utilities.

The employees’ unions had earlier written to the administration, citing unresolved issues related to wages, service conditions, and promotions, and warned of an indefinite strike if their demands were ignored. Today’s meeting is expected to play a decisive role in preventing a power sector disruption and restoring industrial harmony across Andhra Pradesh’s energy departments.

AP: Venkata Ramireddy, President of the Government Employees Federation, criticized the coalition government for failing to provide any Dearness Allowance (DA) to employees over the past 16 months. He highlighted that employee union leaders are being denied appointments with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, leaving workers directionless and frustrated.

Ramireddy recalled that previously, advisors and officials actively listened to and addressed employee concerns, ensuring that their grievances were acknowledged. He emphasized the struggles faced by village and ward secretariat staff, noting that their protests have gone largely unaddressed. Similarly, he extended support to teachers participating in demonstrations for fair treatment and timely benefits.

Ramireddy urged the government to restore communication channels with employee representatives and take immediate steps to provide pending dues and DA, ensuring that government employees feel valued, supported, and secure in their roles. His comments reflect growing discontent among the state’s workforce.
