Economic Survey 2025-26 highlights the effective implementation of labour codes as a crucial step in strengthening formal employment in India. The survey, tabled in Parliament on January 29, 2026, notes that recent employment growth has benefited from structural reforms, tax rationalisation, and continuous focus on skill development.

According to the Economic Survey 2025-26, four labour codes were notified on November 21, 2025. The government expects the supporting rules to come into force in the coming months. These reforms aim to simplify labour regulations, expand formal job creation, and improve workplace protections.

The survey stresses that labour code implementation will also enhance security for women and gig workers. It underlines the need for social security coverage, better working conditions, and clear legal protections for workers in emerging employment models. As the nature of work evolves, policies must adapt to new realities.

Economic Survey 2025-26 further calls for dynamic labour policies and flexible regulatory frameworks. Such measures, it says, will help balance employment expansion with worker welfare. The survey argues that responsive regulation can promote productivity while safeguarding worker rights.

By linking labour reforms with economic growth, the survey positions labour codes as a foundation for inclusive development. Policymakers, employers, and States now face the task of ensuring timely and effective execution to realise these benefits across sectors.

Cognizant’s AI Technology Center to Drive Growth

Cognizant received 22.19 acres in Kapuluppada to establish a large-scale AI Technology Center with an investment of ₹1,600 crore. The company aims to create 8,000 jobs through this project. Although the full-fledged campus will be ready by 2029, Cognizant will immediately begin operations from the Mahati building on Rushikonda Hill-2.
Sattva Developers to Build Major IT and Data Center Campus

Furthermore, in IT Park Hill-4, Bengaluru-based Sattva Developers will set up the Vantage Vizag Campus, which includes IT space and a modern data center. People from across the country continue to move here for better jobs and easier living conditions. Affordable housing and strong employment opportunities attract more residents every year.

Many North Indians are also choosing Hyderabad as their new home. They are finding good opportunities in software and construction sectors. Skilled professionals are expanding their careers here. This growing diversity is adding to the city’s social and economic strength.

Hyderabad has now received a rare global honour. The city has been ranked among the world’s top 100 best cities. In the 2026 World Best Cities Report, Hyderabad secured the 82nd position. This ranking reflects the city’s modern lifestyle, solid growth, and improved facilities.

Other Indian cities also ranked in the report. Bengaluru achieved 29th place, Mumbai stood at 40th, and Delhi reached the 54th position.

The Badnaam Plastic Delhi Plastindia exhibition in New Delhi aims to change how people view the plastics industry. Organisers want to prove that the real problem lies in poor waste segregation, not in plastic itself. The event focuses on responsible use, recycling, and sustainable growth.

The Plastindia 2026, themed “Bharat Next”, will be held from February 5–10, 2026, at Pragati Maidan. It will bring together more than 2,000 exhibitors and attract around six lakh visitors from 80 countries. The organisers believe the event will highlight how innovation and technology can make plastic cleaner and more valuable.

Chairman Alok Tibrewala said the exhibition will feature three flagship initiatives — Zero Waste, Startup Search (in partnership with IIM), and Invest India. These projects aim to promote recycling, entrepreneurship, and investment worth Rs 1 lakh crore in plastic processing.

Ravish Kamath, President of the Plastindia Foundation, said India currently uses over 40 million tonnes of plastic every year, creating jobs for over 50 lakh people. With better waste management and technology, exports could double in three years.

The Badnaam Plastic Delhi Plastindia event also promotes environmental awareness through innovation. The Zero Waste initiative aims to make Plastindia 2026 the first global exhibition where no waste goes to landfills. This campaign reflects India’s goal to combine industrial growth with environmental care.

Plastindia Foundation encourages students, entrepreneurs, and investors to join and explore sustainable opportunities in this rapidly growing industry. Visitors can also expect live demonstrations of recycling machines, eco-friendly packaging, and circular economy models.

By focusing on innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration, Badnaam Plastic Delhi Plastindia hopes to rebuild the image of plastics as a material that supports both progress and the planet.
