The visit will also include discussions with Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during the 5th India-Australia Energy Dialogue. Both countries will explore two-way investments and skill development for the renewable workforce.

This follows the second India-Australia Annual Summit held in November 2024 on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese had expressed their ambition to accelerate climate action through joint projects and the launch of the India-Australia Renewable Energy Partnership.

After India, Bowen will travel to China to meet Minister Huang Runqiu for the 9th Australia-China Ministerial Dialogue on Climate Change in Beijing. These diplomatic engagements are part of Australia’s broader effort to strengthen international climate collaboration and renewable energy initiatives.

The Adani Group stated that the 2,400 MW power project will create thousands of direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase and provide long-term employment once operational. Local industries, logistics, and ancillary sectors are also expected to benefit.

In addition to meeting Bihar’s own energy requirements, the new facility is expected to contribute power to the national grid, helping reduce electricity shortages in other states. The plant will use advanced technology for efficiency and environmental compliance, though environmental clearances and land acquisition are still in progress.

Bihar’s Chief Minister welcomed the announcement, calling it a major milestone for the state’s development. He said the project would not only help bridge the electricity gap but also attract fresh investments and industries to Bihar.

The Adani Group already has a strong footprint in India’s energy sector through coal, renewable, and transmission projects. This new venture reinforces its role as a key player in India’s power growth story.
