The Men’s T20 World Cup semi-final will take place at Wankhede Stadium. Gavaskar believes early wickets could break England’s rhythm before they settle.

Bumrah has impressed with an economy rate of 6.3 in the Super Eights. He has conceded only three sixes in the tournament. India has used him flexibly in different matches. Gavaskar said dismissing key batters like Jos Buttler and Harry Brook early could tilt the match.

He also praised Bumrah’s ability to hide variations. Gavaskar noted that the pacer keeps adding new skills to his bowling. He compared reading Bumrah’s deliveries to how Andre Agassi decoded Boris Becker’s serve. He said Bumrah offers no visible clues to batters.

Gavaskar warned about England all-rounder Will Jacks, who has excelled with bat and ball. He said pitch conditions will decide his impact. Gavaskar added that India’s right-handers must handle him carefully in the semi-final.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana expressed her disappointment after rain washed away their golden opportunity to beat England in the ICC Women’s World Cup at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. Pakistan were 34 for no loss in 6.4 overs, chasing a DLS target of 113, when heavy rain ended the game. Both teams shared points, leaving Pakistan’s semifinal hopes in trouble after their third washout of the tournament.

Fatima led a strong bowling performance, taking 4 for 27 to dismantle England’s top order. Supported by Diana Baig and Sadia Iqbal, she helped restrict England to 133 for 9 in 31 overs. Her early breakthroughs, including key wickets of Heather Knight and Nat Sciver-Brunt, gave Pakistan control before rain interrupted play.

England’s lower order fought back through Charlie Dean and Emily Arlott, who added 46 runs for the eighth wicket. When Pakistan began their chase, openers Muneeba Ali and Omaima Sohail gave a solid start before the match was halted again by rain.

Fatima praised her teammates’ efforts and promised improvement in upcoming games. England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt admitted her side struggled with seam movement and said her team must adapt better to changing conditions.

Former Australia opener David Warner has backed the hosts to retain the Ashes, dismissing concerns about England’s aggressive “Bazball” approach. Warner predicts a 3-1 or 4-0 series win for Australia, even if skipper Pat Cummins misses the opening Test in Perth.

Speaking at the Summer of Cricket launch, Warner said Australia will play for the Ashes, while England will only aim for a moral victory. He warned against underestimating England captain Ben Stokes, praising him as a strong leader capable of inspiring his team. Warner also encouraged friendly banter on the field to maintain energy and excitement during matches.

Warner highlighted Marnus Labuschagne’s experience and form as key for Australia’s lineup, while backing young star Sam Konstas to open alongside Usman Khawaja in the Ashes opener. Konstas recently scored 109 and 27 not out against India A, showing promise despite a poor West Indies tour. Warner urged selectors to give Konstas a consistent opportunity rather than switching to Labuschagne.

The Ashes series begins on November 21 in Perth, with Warner expecting an energetic contest. He emphasized that the Australian squad’s confidence, combined with experience and strategic planning, will be crucial in defending the urn against England.

Scheduled in India from November 11 to 25, this historic tournament marks a significant milestone for women’s blind cricket.

Jemimah, who has played 112 T20Is for India, expressed pride in India hosting the inaugural event. She said the players would make the nation proud by competing at the highest level and lifting the trophy.

The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) announced the squad earlier this month and has begun preparations for the tournament. CABI Chairman Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar recently met President Droupadi Murmu to present details of the event, accompanied by Meenakashi Lekhi, Organising Committee Chairperson.

The Women’s T20 World Cup – Cricket for the Blind will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with matches in New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Colombo. Teams from Australia, England, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the USA will compete in 21 league matches, two semi-finals, and the final. The event follows India’s golden win at the 2023 IBSA World Games, where the Indian team defeated Australia.
