The 6 liters liquor case dates back to July 12, 2017. Police received a tip-off about illegal liquor being transported in Kesoli village under the Sangrampur police station area. Officers reached the location and started checking people on the road.

During the operation, police stopped a suspect who tried to escape. When officers searched his bag, they found about six liters of country-made Mahua liquor hidden inside. Police arrested the accused, identified as Gabbar Mandal alias Ramanand Mandal.

After a long trial, the Munger Special Excise Court announced its verdict on April 24, 2026. The court found the accused guilty under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act and awarded five years of rigorous imprisonment.

The court also directed the convict to pay a ₹1 lakh fine. If he fails to pay the fine, he must serve an additional six months in jail. Officials said the verdict sends a strong message against the illegal liquor trade in the state.
