During the search, officers recovered printing machines, a cash-counting device, and other materials used to produce counterfeit currency. The setup showed that the gang had been operating for a long time.

Police detained several suspects from the spot, including a woman. Officers are questioning them to identify other members of the network and to track where the fake notes were circulated.

Investigators said the Fake Note Syndicate in Bihar came under watch after inputs from Nepal. Security agencies in Nepal recently caught smugglers carrying Indian fake currency. Their interrogation pointed towards Motihari as a key location.

Officials believe the gang had cross-border links and supplied fake notes to different parts of Bihar. Senior police officers are supervising the probe. Central agencies may also join the investigation as the case develops.

As soon as the information surfaced, group members expressed shock and fear. Furthermore, members revealed that similar fake notes had appeared twice earlier. This incident marked the third occurrence, raising serious concerns. Consequently, the issue became a hot topic among SHGs in the region.

Meanwhile, bank officials advised SHG members to remain alert while collecting cash. They urged members to check notes carefully before deposits. Since SHGs operate across Telangana, officials stressed the need for vigilance to prevent financial losses.
